Our Greatest Fear

A few days ago I was meeting with a friend/mentor and as we wrapped up our conversation, he walked over to me and handed me a picture. In the middle of the picture was a quote and surrounding the words were beautiful pictures of his wife and children and other important people in their lives. The words were just what I needed and I hope you find them useful as well.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

iHealth Product Review

Immediately upon receiving the iHealth scale, I was excited to try it out. I am always into health and fitness and this seemed like a great way to track is. The iHealth scale is a digital scale that syncs with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod. First, the user needs to download the application on their apple device called iHealth. After installing this free app, you must enable Bluetooth on the device, then you simply step on the scale and weigh yourself. It automatically stores everything on the application for you. It will record your weight history in a list format, graph format or on a calendar format.

There are a few other functions of the application including the calories tab. With this function you can track your daily calorie intake and see how it correlates with your daily weight. There is also a “frequently asked questions” tab that gives you lots of information about body weight knowledge, tips and instructions on using the scale and application.

The product is 1.5 inches high, 13 inches wide and 13 inches deep. It weighs about 4.4 pounds. It’s a very heavy duty and sturdy scale.

I thought the scale was very nice and of very good quality. The scale and the app were both very user-friendly and easy to use. I think that this combination of resources would be very useful for someone trying to lose weight or simple maintain and track their current weight. The only negative thing I found about the product was in the application itself. I felt like it needed to have more complexity to it. Although I liked the simplicity of the product, at the same time, it seemed like it needed more functions within the application. Maybe a more complex calorie tracker would help. A more colorful and complex screen would prove to help, I believe. Otherwise, I thought it was a very neat and useful product and I will thoroughly enjoy the journey of tracking and monitoring my weight. Studies show that tracking something, anything really, can help you gain or maintain control of whatever it is you are tracking. It also shows that by tracking something you can typically achieve more success. I think the iHealth Scale would be an excellent tool in achieving weight loss or maintenance goals.
