And the floors are in. As you all know, when you move on thing in the house it causes this evil, yet exciting snowball effect of changing everything else! So, that was kind of how I spent my past 4 hours. But, the floors are in and they lighten up the room alot!
I replaced the dark rug that was in the room with this lighter , antique, real wool rug that I snatched up from an antique mall for $25! What a steal! The smallness of the rug exposes more of the floors and the lighter color of the rug brightens the room a bit. I love it!
This is just a view from the other side. I'm pretty obsessed with these floors, I can't lie.
David always says that I like to "capture" things and put them in these cages. Haha! At Halloween I had a pumpkin in it and David told everyone that we worked really hard to capture that pumpkin.
Another example of my animal cruelty is exhibited here. (Not really Peta, don't come get me.) We were trimming the holly tree in the front yard this fall and I accidentally snipped down a limb with this precious little nest in it. When it fell to the ground we found three tiny little robins eggs. Sadly they had busted, but as an ode to the cute soon to be birds that fell to a tragic death so I could have a nicely trimmed tree, I decided to keep the precious nest and use in the house. So, here it is, along with a placard I bought at a going out of business sale for $2!
Now, I know you are all sitting there going....."hmm.. I wonder what Anna did with that rug that black rug that used to be in the living room?!?" Well, wonder no more! I decided to put it in the dining room along with the black chair that was also in the living room. Never know when you're going to need another chair for an unexpected guest.
Well, that concludes the end of the mini-makeover I did tonight since the new floors threw me for a loop! Still more to do...looking for curtains! Leave me comments with any suggestions. Everyone have a great weekend!
The floor looks great! The rug is perfect and I love that you put the other rug in the dining room, it looks so cozy now. All you need now are the window treatments, can't wait to see what you pick out.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you rearranged things. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteooh! i love it! great job girl!! And what antique mall did you go to? I've been wanting to hit one up, but don't know of a good one that's close!
ReplyDeleteCassandra,
ReplyDeleteThanks!! :) Well, there are some good ones on the Bell Buckle Square.
One is called the Doodle Bug.( i think) Its not exactly antiques, kind
of a mix, but they have great stuff!! I also like the Old Feed Store
in Woodbury. Sometimes you can get some really awesome stuff and its
usually super cheap! Beware... antiquing can get addictive.
your house looks great :) i love decorating too, not much to decorate in our current humble abode but one day i'm going to go all out! miss you! have a great week!
