I'll Blow Your Car Up!

Traveling is one of mine and David's favorite things to do. We both love the thrill of being in a new place and seeing new things and places. It can really change your perspective on your own life and often times I come home from a trip renewed. Getting away somehow forces me to forget about the monotony of daily life and really focus on the things that matter the most.

Enough mushy talk....let's get to the fun pictures, right?

Last week David and I went o Los Angeles, California. There is really no reason behind choosing this destination except for the fact that we just thought it would be fun. After many days of Googling "cool things to do in LA", we found plenty of cool things to do!

The night we got to LA, we immediately headed to and "In and Out Burger" ("That's what a hamburgers all about!"-I can't get the jingle out of my head) Everyone from California always talks about how great In and Out is, so we thought we would check it out. Deeeeelicious.

The next day we took the fancy "Old Man Caliber"- our rented compact car- and toured the Hollywood Hills. Being the real estate junkie that I am, this was one of my favorite places we went. The houses were so close together, but very neat looking. You could literally reach out from your car window and touch the houses. While searching for the best hiking route to the Hollywood sign, we stumbled on the set of a western in filming. It was very cool...but...they wouldn't let me be in it..bummer. We drove all the way to the top of Mulholland to see this baby...

I know it looks like I googled this picture....I promise I didn't.

We had a great time in downtown Hollywood seeing the Chinese Theatre, Walk of Fame and David even made a friend at Madame Toussauds.  I caught them skipping down the hallways singing "And we're the two best friends that anyone could have..."

We enjoyed lunch on Rodeo Drive( that's about the only thing we could afford there because unfortunately David is not Richard Gere and I am not a hooker.)

We made sure to hit all the uber- tourist sites like Sunset Blvd, Greystone Mansion, Griffith Observatory, etc etc... we even hit all of those sites with cameras pasted on us like cross body purses and wearing fanny packs.

I took my fanny pack off for picture purposes only.

Then we headed over to Universal. It was so much fun! I got to see the set of Desperate Housewives, which was dreamy. I sorta wanted to jump off the little touring cart and get lost in Wisteria Lane.

David called me "Santana" the whole trip because of this hat. Yeah...

Then we spent a couple of days in Santa Monica where we visited Venice Beach, Third Street Promonade, the beach and the Santa Monica Pier.

We really had a blast. It was a great way to spend our first year anniversary! I know you are all wondering where the title of this post came from. The phrase "I'll blow your car up," actually became our catch phrase for the trip. The first day we were in LA-on Sunset Blvd- we got stuck at a red light and accidentally pulled an extra three feet over the line- meaning that pedestrians had to walk an extra .000187 seconds to get around our car. All of the sudden some crazy 1985 Shaquille O'Neal looking guy starts screaming "You need to go back to school and learn how to drive!!!!" We both looked at him in utter disgust so, naturally, he continued on to say, "you better be glad I am being nice this time because next time I'LL BLOW YOUR CAR UP!!"  Geeze. Take a Chill Pill Shaq.
