You're going to live here?!

It has always been a desire and dream to purchase an old house and fix it up. My dad did this when I was a kid a few times and I always found it so fascinating to go along with him and watch the progress. There is just something about taking the old and ragged and making it new again. There is something fulfilling in it. I am the type of person that works best when I can see progress. (I used to always like mowing the lawn- I think the reason why is because with every strip around the yard, I was able to see progress and improvement in the aesthetics of the yard I was mowing. (This love of mowing quickly turned into hate, but maybe that love can be rekindled with this new house.))

So... the deed is done. The leap has been taken. A new Casa De Rowland is coming soon! :)
I must preface with this.... at this point in time this home is ghetto-fab. And by ghetto fab, I mean that every square foot of the house is going to have to be re-done before any Casa De Rowland members begin to inhabit. So, make your snappy remarks about the current state of trashiness the house is in, but when it is all said and done, I hope you will marvel in the dramatic and exciting transformation we have made.

I told my mom about the house and she was so excited- knowing this was a dream I have had for a long time. Then.... when I took her to see it in person, I could slowly tell her excitement in my vision was slowly lowering in confidence. She will read this and call me saying "No, I didn't. I think its awesome. But her face said it all... she was thinking , "You're going to live here?!?!" Give it a few weeks and she will come around ;)

So, stay tuned and follow along with the updates and changes the house undergoes in the next few months. Be sure to check out my new tab "Flip House # 2".
